Urban Community Based Ecological Energy Solutions

Soul Ecology Concepts

The concept of Soul Ecology Labs was envisioned in 1998 to identify an ecological solution for the owners (Chef Yealang Smith, Marvin A. Campbell) of Soul Folks Café to dispose of Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO) from deep fryers at two of their Los Angeles facilities. The restaurants would generate 20 gallon of waste vegetable oil a week, the oil was stored in a steel barrel in the company's parking lot.

At the end of each month a Waste Oil Renderer would remove the oil from the site for a fee. Waste Oil Renderers remove moisture, solids and other impurities to create yellow grease. Most processed "Yellow Grease" is sold to animal feed stores as a concentrated calorie additives. This "Yellow Grease" increases the volume of the food stocks, thus reducing the cost of feeding live stock.

The concept of feeding cows waste vegetable oil did not impress the restaurant owners, immediately the owners decided to investigate new methods of disposing of the waste vegetable oils from their restaurant.

The restaurant owners decided that they wanted to create bio-diesel to power an auxiliary diesel engine which generated electricity to power two air conditioners at their catering event center in downtown Los Angeles.

The owners decided to make a conscious effort to learn about Bio-Diesel processors and other ecological energy processors. The owners attended several presentations on Bio Diesel processors at the National Bio-Diesel conference. Also, international Pod cast presentations on sono-chemistry from the University of Singapore were downloaded and analyzed. Seminars were taken at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona's Lyle Regenerative Center. After thorough understanding of ecological energy processors was gained, a decision to create a laboratory to explore the physical creation of the energy processor was agreed upon.

In 2005, the concept of Soul Ecology was certified and the documentation and testing of the ecological energy processors began. The Soul Ecology team has decided to concentrate on the following energy processors:

In 2007, Soul Ecology is planning to create a facility to illustrate and demonstrate the component necessary to utilize the energy processors.
